Why do I have duplicate information on my VKARD profile ?

Sometimes certain information appears twice on your VKARD, such as a phone number or an email address. No worries! This happens because of how the data management system works within your VKARD profile.

🔍 Understanding the structure of a VKARD profile

Your VKARD is a combination of two distinct data sources:

  1. Your personal profile (user)
  2. Your company profile (organization or entity)

When someone scans your VKARD, the displayed contact card is the result of merging these two profiles.

📍 Where to see this in the Dashboard?

Go to https://dashboard.vkard.io/cards.

There you will find the list of all VKARD cards linked to your account.

  • Hover over a card: you will see edit icons.
  • Click on the gear icon to edit the card.
  • Once in the settings, you will access two sections:
  • On the left: the personal information of the collaborator
  • On the right: the entity (company) information

The combination of these two columns forms the final contact card displayed when the card is scanned.

📞 Typical example of duplicated information

Let’s take a common case:

  • On your personal profile, you entered your direct phone number (e.g., 06 60 60 60 60)

  • On the company profile, your company entered the main switchboard number (e.g., 04 01 02 03 04)

In this case, your VKARD will display both numbers because each comes from a distinct space.

This can give the impression that the information is "duplicated", while it actually comes from different and complementary sources.

✅ Why is this structure useful?

Separating the personal profile and the company entity offers several benefits:

  • More precise data management

You can customize your information without affecting your colleagues.

  • Fast company-wide updates

Whether you have 10, 50, or 200 collaborators, you can update the company’s address, phone, or website once for all, without editing each profile manually.

🧠 Good to know

  • If you want to hide information or avoid visible duplicates on your VKARD, you can:
  • Edit your personal profile to remove or adjust some info
  • Ask the company administrator to update the global company information
