What is the 'owner' and the 'holder'? How to change them ?

The VKARD system lets you fine-tune profile management settings. Before starting, it’s important to understand 3 concepts: the VKARD profile, the owner, the holder.


The holder


The holder is the person to whom the prospect will be assigned when the "Exchange" form is submitted or when a paper business card scan is performed from the profile.


Generally, the holder is the person of the profile themself.


It may sometimes be someone else, for example if a sales director wants the prospects they generate to be assigned to a member of their team.


The owner


The owner is the person who can update the profile. By default, this is an administrator (any administrator; administrators can do anything on the dashboard).


With the Premium plan, you can let each collaborator manage their own profile. In this case, set the holder as the owner of their own profile so they can update their information: they will then have access to full profile editing.

To assign (or change) a VKARD holder, proceed as follows:


Option 1: on the profile


1 - Go to dashboard.vkard.io and log in with your credentials.


2 - On the profile in question, click the three-dots icon > "Edit profile"



3 - Click the "change holder" button.



You will then be able to choose from a list of people who have been invited to the organization.


Option 2: on the Dashboard "Prospects" tab


  • Go to the "Prospects" tab in the left menu
  • Then click "Manage"
  • Assign holders directly in the list of profiles




If you don’t see the desired member in the list, it means they haven’t been invited yet. Click here to learn how to invite members to the organization.
