Understanding What a Vector File Is (and Why It’s Important for Your VKARD)


A vector file is a type of graphic file. Unlike standard images (such as JPEG or PNG files), vector files are not made up of pixels. This means they can be scaled up or down infinitely without losing quality.


🧠 Concrete example: Imagine a logo you want to display on a business card or a billboard. With a pixel-based file (e.g. PNG), the image might become blurry or pixelated when enlarged. With a vector file, the logo stays sharp and clear, no matter the size.


Vector files usually have the following extensions:

  • .SVG
  • .AI Adobe Illustrator
  • .EPS
  • .PDF if created from vector software



Why Do We Need a Vector File to Create Your VKARD?


When you order a personalized VKARD, we often include your company logo or your visual identity. To ensure a professional and high-quality result, it is essential that we have the vector version of your logo.


A simple JPEG or PNG file does not allow us to:

  • remove your logo from its white background,
  • properly adjust color, size, or alignment,
  • or guarantee perfect sharpness on various media (VKARD, email signature, QR Code, etc.).



Why Not Convert Your Image Online?


There are many online tools that claim to "convert an image into a vector file."

But beware: this is not real vectorization. These tools often create an automated approximation from a pixel-based image, resulting in a blurry, distorted, or unusable file.


This never replaces the original source file created by your graphic designer in software like Adobe Illustrator.




For us to create an optimal VKARD, you must ask your graphic designer or communication agency to provide you with:

  • The vector file of your logo (AI, SVG, EPS, or PDF),
  • With vectorized fonts.


If you don’t have this file: contact the person who created your logo. They should be able to send it to you quickly.
