How do I redirect my VKARD to my contact card or an external URL ?
It is possible to configure your VKARD so that, when scanned, the user is automatically redirected to your contact card (.vcf) — without displaying your full profile or redirecting your VKARD to an external link (such as a brochure, website, online calendar, etc.)
To do this, simply activate the following option in your profile settings:
- Access your profile
Go to your profile and click on "Settings"
- Open the VKARD settings
Select the VKARD section

⚙️ Activate automatic redirection to the contact card

✅ "Open the VCF contact card directly upon scanning"
Once this option is checked:
- When a user scans your VKARD, they are automatically redirected to download your contact card.
- This is equivalent to an automatic click on the "Contact Card" button of your profile.
⚠️ Important points to know before activating this option
📱 Behavior on Android
On most Android phones, redirection to the VCF file automatically triggers the file download.
This allows the user to quickly save your contact details to their directory but may feel a bit intrusive.
🚫 Less interaction with your VKARD profile
By activating this redirection, the user will not see your full profile. They will therefore not be able to:
- Discover your additional information or links displayed on your VKARD;
- Click on the "Exchange" button to share their own contact details with you.
Your main goal is to share your contact details quickly (name, phone, email, company);
You are in a context of quick exchange (trade show, event, quick networking) and do not need to collect your interlocutor’s contact details via your VKARD.
🔗 How to redirect my VKARD to a completely different link?
- Modify the target URL
You will see a field dedicated to the redirection URL. Remove the old URL if necessary, then enter the new address where you want your visitors to be redirected.
- Save your changes
Don’t forget to click the "Save" button to confirm your new target URL.

Best practices
- Make sure the URL entered is correct and working.
- If redirecting to an external site, make sure the page is accessible without restrictions (e.g., no password protection).
- Prefer a secure URL (starting with
https://) to ensure better trust from your visitors.
🔗 How to revert to normal VKARD usage?
To revert to the normal use of your VKARD, you can clear the "target URL" field or uncheck the option "open the VCF contact card directly upon scanning". Once this change is saved, your VKARD will return to its initial state: scanning it will redirect to your VKARD profile.
